Last month saw Cardiff Parkway station and Cardiff Hendre Lakes development included within Cardiff Council’s new economic strategy to transform the east of Cardiff.
Cardiff Hendre Lakes, which will be served by Cardiff Parkway railway station, aims to make a significant contribution to the regeneration of east Cardiff by bringing connectivity, jobs and investment to the region.
The Cardiff East Strategy aims to boost jobs and investment in the east of the city by focusing on the following key areas:
- Developing new business opportunities
- Improving local transport
- Supporting enhancements to infrastructure and the environment
The strategy incorporates a range of exciting developments for east Cardiff, and includes our plans for a new business district and sustainable transport hub in St Mellons.
Welcoming the proposals, Nigel Roberts, Executive Chairman of Cardiff Parkway Developments, said: “We are pleased to see a new strategy dedicated to driving the success of eastern Cardiff. The Cardiff Hendre Lakes development and new Cardiff Parkway station aim to be a key component for this regeneration, and will deliver a range of benefits – including new jobs, better transport and enhanced green spaces – for the local community and wider region.”
Our plans for Cardiff Parkway and Cardiff Hendre Lakes are at an early stage, and we now want to hear from the local community to find out how the project can most benefit you.
